Apple fruit is the most simple way to take care about your health using raw food.
While thinking about my first health lens, I was not thinking about apples at all, although my head was full of ideas (apparently that’s how you know you’re addicted to Squidoo:-).
I was sure about one thing though – it was going to be about something very simple and accessible to everyone. And then something funny happened. My younger daughter entered the room and asked me for an apple (she adores apples).
That same moment I knew I wanted to write about benefits of apples, ignored by so many people so often. The rest is here in front of you. I hope you’ll enjoy reading and learning a thing or two.
A Guardian Angel Of Our Immune System
Many people believe that the apple fruit comes straight from Heaven. As such, it has been a symbol of eternal youth since who knows when. An old Celtic legend says that anyone who eats an apple from the magic garden will neither ever be hungry, thirsty or ill, nor will he ever get old. Sometime around that age, an old English saying became famous. Now days it’s still very well known: “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”.
Although some other types of fruits contain more vitamin C, the magical efficiency of apples lies in their optimal combination of vitamin C and other substances. Namely, apple is the true treasury of health boost agents, such as: vitamins C, A, B1, B2, B6, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and iron. On top of that, apples are fruits with the highest level of pectin, an extremely valuable compound that is more and more researched for its huge medical benefits. So, this powerful army of common apple ingredients is extremely efficient in protecting and stimulating our immune system. Such “cocktail” is the best body defense from viruses, bacterias and free radicals.
Don’t Be Shy – Eat Apples And Smile!
Apples are full of calcium and phosphorus, two true wizards when it comes to dental care. They are two most important minerals our teeth are made of and they’re responsible for the strength of dental enamel. Lack of any of them causes caries as the first sign of teeth deterioration.
So, eat apples every day and maintain a solid structure of your teeth.
Oh! And don’t forget to smile!
Are You Overweight? Take an Apple!
Due to its high level of potassium and fibers, apple helps in two ways during the weight loss process. It:
- stimulates the elimination of excess liquid out of the body and
- gives the feeling of satiety and reduces the appetite (because of the fibers swelling in the stomach).
That’s why apples are inevitable part of every weight loss (control) diet.
Important:
Learn and Remember for Good
People today tend to eat food made of questionable ingredients, not to mention fast food meals. Consequently, their digestive system suffers, because it needs much more digestive juices to process such food. Bloating, gas and stomach pain are just some of the symptoms of such imbalance.
Here’s where apple steps in.
Thanks to its alkali impact and high level of fibers, apple fruit is perfect for fast and safe detoxification and for regaining balance of digestive system.
Don’t Forget Your Kids! – “Old habits die hard” so they better be healthy
In today’s world of fast food corners, instant home cooking and artificial flavors, teaching your child what to eat can sometime be a real challenge. That’s why it’s important to always have around valuable “assistants” most kids like. Apple is one of them. It can be sweet or not, depending on your child’s taste, it doesn’t cost much and it’s easy to include it in everyday lunchbox.
Once you teach your child to eat an apple or two a day, you’ll open his(her) mind to a habit of eating fruits in general. In stead of candies, of course:-)
Get your kid this nice little book about all the ways of enjoying the taste of apples.
Thirsty and Exhausted After Your Workout? – Apple Fruit In Stead Of Water
Even if it’s the sweet sort, apple is by its composition up to 90% water, so it’s perfect for dealing with thirst, especially after a workout.
In addition to that, it contains fructose and glucose, two important carbohydrates that supply our body with energy and at the same time prevent fatigue and lack of concentration. So not only is it great compensation for the people undergoing physical efforts, but for students or anyone who is under a mental stress.
So, eat apples to stay fit and to learn easy!
