Connect and Configure USB Modem to Android Tablet – if you just bought an android tablet and do not know how to connect it? or maybe your tablet does not support 3G sim card slot, so you need a modem to access the internet.
The market has been circulating a lot of android tablets that do not support the sim card slot but already supports usb modem ports on how to use a tablet for beginners.
Thoose tablet include: HCL Me Tablets, Tablets Zync, Karbonn Tablets, Tablets Mitashi, Tablets Milagrow,Micromax Funbook, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Byond Tablets, Aakash tablet or Ubislate 7, Acer Iconia, etc.
This time, I will share tips on how to connect android tablet with usb (dongle) modem. maybe these tips will support CDMA or 3G connection.
In tips this time, you may be able to connect the modem with 3G or cdma networks. Operators available include: MTS, Tata Photon, Airtel, Reliance, BSNL etc or. This is the tips how to install 3g modem on android tablet.
So, follow below steps to connect and instal usb modem to android tablet.
Connect and install usb Modem to android tablets
Step 1: First of all, you have to press the menu button from your Android tablet, then select “Settings” from the main menu. After that, select “Wireless & Networks” option from the Settings menu.
Step 2: Then, after that please connect USB modem to tablet with your USB port. Please ensure that Wifi in your tablet is not connected. Then, you must enable 3G option by selecting the 3G option from the same menu. In this section, please wait for 1-3 min after the signal strength will show up on the status bar. But, if no signal bar appears after 2-3 min then , you must remove USB data card and check if SIM is inserted properly, then please re-insert it again.
Step 3: After that, please select “mobile Network” from menu, then select the Access Point Names. And make sure that ‘Data enabled’ option is switched ON. If you are using roaming SIM then you also need switch ON the “Data roaming”.
Step 4: Then, after you have selected the access Point Names option a blank screen will be displayed.
Step 5: Then, after that press the “Menu” button. Then, You must select “New APN” option and input your network provider details and informations. If You do not know, I have provided below at the table: check it out:

After that, please insert the information details above according your network you are using.
Step 6: Then, you can see the APN that you have created. After that, You must enable your APN by pressing the radio button. Radio button will glow green if successful.
Step 7: You will be able to see that 3G logo will appear in status bar after 1-3 minutes later when your APN is enabled.
Note:
- For your information, for Reliance Netconnect, Tata Photon, MTS users:
- Create new profile and name it “Tata” or anything up to you. Then, in place of APN settings fill the #777.
- Then, after that please fill the username and also password with the setting that have provided by your operator.
- Then, after that you have to leave everything blank in all other setting and connect using that profile 🙂
